BRITISH CHILDREN'S ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR 2002!!
Dave Silk once told me that it can be slightly frustrating walking with Ron through his home town of Tipton if you are in anything of a hurry because so many people stop and talk to him and it can take an age to get from one end to the other.
This pretty much sums Ron up. He is extremely popular with everyone who knows him and he his naturally funny and entertaining without even trying to be.
Although born in Tipton, Ron spent most of his school days staying with his Grandmother in Italy. With a tie to various continental Circuses, Ron was taught at an early age many Circus Skills including Juggling, Stilt Walking, Plate Spinning and even Uni-cycling. His Grandmother also passed on her art of Palmistry. She always called him 'Ronaldo', a name which he still fondly uses when he performs in this guise in full gypsy attire at many student, corporate and private events.
Aside from being well able to entertain with many types of Magic including Close-up and Comedy Cabaret where he has worked for such client's as Honda, Volvo, TSB, Royal Bank of Scotland and Ericson, Ron is perhaps best known as a Clown and Children's Entertainer where he has been full-time professional since 1986. One of his first residencies was at the 'West Bromwich Moat House' where he is still resident some 15 years later which is great testament to his popularity.
Ron is an active member of the WCM, the International Brotherhood of Magicians and he is a blue ribbon medallist of the British Magical Society. He has also won a number of magical awards including twice winner of the Tony Shelley Cup for Stand-up Magic, Children's Entertainer of the Year Diploma and he has performed in the Children's Entertainer British Magical Championships. He has also proved to be a popular lecturer at a number of Magic societies around the country.
Aside from 'Ronaldo', Ron appears regularly as 'Crackers the Clown', 'Professor Popple' and 'Punch and Judy Man'. He has also enjoyed some Television appearances including 'Richard and Judy' and 'Children's Hospital'.
